Mubariz Naghiyev was born in Baku.
He studied at the Theater and Cinema Faculty of the Azerbaijan State University of Arts (1992), and at the Institute of Business Administration of the University of Karachi, Islamic Republic of Pakistan, where he studied diplomacy and English (1993).
He worked in government for a while.
He has been in the cinema field since 2005.
