Markaz Gajar (Markaz Guliyev) was born in Fuzuli.
He studied at the Faculty of Law of Azerbaijan State University.
Since 1976, he has worked in prosecutorial bodies, as an investigator in Yardimli and Salyan districts, and since 1991 as a department prosecutor in the Baku City Prosecutor's Office.
More than 30 books have been published. These books include about 20 thousand plays, more than 2,000 rubai, more than 3,000 lyric poems, more than 500 bayati, more than 1,000 ghazals, 10 allegorical plays, 8 historical dramas and 9 poems. His works have been translated into English, German, Spanish, Russian, Persian, Kurdish and other languages. His plays have been staged in various theaters of the republic.
Markaz Gajar, a laureate of the “Araz” Higher Literary and “Golden Pen” Creative Awards, died in 2013.
