Lyudmila Dukhovnaya was born in Baku.
She studied at the studio of the Azerbaijan State Russian Drama Theater (1963), at the Drama and Cinema Actor Department of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts (1965).
Since 1965, she has been working at the Azerbaijan State Russian Drama Theater.
She starred in the foreign film “Exhibition” (1987, directors Andryus Shusha, Marionas Gedris / Lithuania) as the gypsy Liana and in the film “Salandar” (1994, director Rafi Pitts / France, Russia).
She was awarded the “Apofigey” audience award (1994, 2001), the “Figaro” award named after Andrei Mironov, the national actor award of Russia (2016), the “Golden Dervish” and “Humay” awards.
Honored Artist (1976), People's Artist (1991).
Awarded the “Glory” Order (2019).
Actress Lyudmila Dukhovnaya is the mother of actress Fatima Ibrahimbayova.
Actress Lyudmila Dukhovnaya was the wife of director, producer, and screenwriter Rustam Ibrahimbayov.
