Liliya Makarova (Lilian Ruth / Lilian Heilovski) was born in Baku.

She studied at the Azerbaijan Institute of Arts (1978).

She began her acting career at the Azerbaijan State Russian Drama Theater. After moving to Moscow, she worked as an actress at the Satyricon Theater, then at the “Yarasa” Cabaret Theater. In 1990, she moved to Israel with her husband, actor Roland Ter-Makarov. Since 1992, she has worked as an actress at the “Gesher” Theater.
