Khayyam Abdullazadeh (Khayyam Abdullayev / Khayyam Shami) was born in the village of Mamyrli, Tartar region. He studied at the Directing Faculty of the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art (2000-2004).

He worked as a director and project manager at ANS television (2003-2009). During this time, he was the author of “Meydan”, “Unknown Celebrities”, “Divan of Geniuses” and many other intellectual projects. For some time, he worked as a project author and director at Space TV, Lider TV, AzTV and ITV. He collaborated with the “Azerbaijanfilm” film studio and the “Mozalan” satirical film magazine.

He was a co-founder of “EXA Production” LLC.

He is the author of the books of philosophical poems “Above Consciousness” (2010), “The Philosophy of Colors” (2015) and “Stone” (2019).

He was awarded a diploma for his distinction in the field of cinema by the Ministry of Youth and Sports on the occasion of "Youth Day" (2008).

He has participated and won many international film festivals.
