Kamal Yashar (Kamal Mammadov) was born in Ganja.
He studied Directing at the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art (2011-2017, bachelor's, master's degrees), and at the Baku Film Institute (2012).
He worked in the Culture Department of Region TV (2011-2017), in the dubbing editorial office of ANS TV (2015-2016). He is the author and host of the “Live Book” project on Antenne FM radio (2019), the “Kinokitab” project on Culture television (2020-2022), the “Poetry for Me” project on Retro FM, and a Speech/Diction teacher at the “WOW School+” training center (2019).
His articles on films and performances are published in periodicals. He was the winner of the 7th European Film Festival Film Review Competition and participated in the 67th Berlin Film Festival as a prizewinner (2017).
He is engaged in dubbing and voice-over work as an actor and director.
