Intigam Gasimzadeh (Intigam Gasimov) was born in Shusha.

He studied at the Philology Faculty of Azerbaijan State University (1960-1965).

He was a postgraduate student at the Department of Literary Theory of the Nizami Institute of Language and Literature of the Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences. He was a member of the script-editorial staff of the “Azerbaijanfilm” film studio (1969-1974), worked as a literary worker, head of the criticism department (1976-1979), executive secretary, and deputy editor-in-chief (1979-1997) in the editorial office of the “Azerbaijan” magazine. He is currently the editor-in-chief of the magazine (since 1997). Although he began his literary career early, his literary and critical articles have been regularly published in periodicals since 1968. He is consistently engaged in literary translation. He has translated Kamil Yashe's plays, Vasil Bykov's stories, and Sandor Radon's novel "Pencil "Dora"" from Russian. He is the author of the literary television almanac "Bayatı" (since 1980).

He was awarded the "Humay" National Prize (2013). He is an Honored Artist (2003).
