Ilgar Musayev was born in Ganja. He studied at the tar department of Music School No. 5 (1987-1993), at the Directing Faculty of the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts (2003-2007, Sevil Khalilova's course). He worked for a while at the Irevan Theater (1997-1998). Since 2001, he has been an actor at the Baku Municipal Theater. He was the host of the programs “Telesahne” on public television and “Dissident” on ANS television.
He starred in the series “Orphans” (Turkey) by foreign film producers, in the role of Mehmed in the series “Yatmishlar-2” (2018, director Sergey Arlanov / Russia), in the role of Farid in the series “Yatmishlar-2” (2018, director Sergey Arlanov / Russia).
