Hajibaba Baghirov was born in Baku.
From a young age, his passion for theater brought him to the acting studio at the Drama Theater (1947). In 1953, he graduated from the Azerbaijan Railway School and worked as an assistant machinist at the Bilajari depot for a while. He headed the club of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (1959-1960).
He began his independent creative activity at the Lankaran Drama Theater (1950), then worked at the Ganja Drama Theater (1960-1962), and the Musical Comedy Theater (1962-1989). For a while, he worked as the artistic director of the Criticism-Propaganda Theater he founded (1989-1996). Since 1996, he has again linked his fate with the Musical Comedy Theater. He worked there as artistic director and director until the end of his life.
Honored Artist (1974), People's Artist (1982), "Shohrat" Order (1998), laureate of the "Golden Dervish" award, Hajibaba Bagirov died in 2006 and was buried in the 2nd Alley of Honor.
