Farhad Yusifov (Mark Joseph) was born in Moscow.

He studied piano at the special music school under the Azerbaijan State Conservatory, at the acting faculty of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts, and at the directing faculty of the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography (1976-1982, Yefim Dzhigan's course).

He starred in the leading role - Siyavush - in the film "Rustam and Sohrab" (1976, director Bension Kimyagerov / Tajikistan) by foreign film producers, and in the role of a thief in the film "Sovda" (1985, director Mikhail Vedishev / Russia).

He moved to the West in 1989. He currently lives in Montreal, Canada, and adopted the name Mark Joseph. He studied graphic design and video editing. He worked on the RTVC TV channel, preparing author's programs and commercials. He also works in the film industry in Canada.

Actor and director Farhad Yusifov is the brother of actress Dinara Yusifova.
