Faig Mustafayev was born in Baku.
He studied at the Philology Faculty of Azerbaijan State University.
During his student years, he began working for the newspaper "Molodyoj Azerbaydzhana". In 1962, he worked for the newspaper "Bakinski Rabochi". Later, he worked as a special correspondent for the newspaper "Pioneerskaya Pravda" for Transcaucasia, editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Molodyoj Azerbaydzhana", and as a special correspondent for the newspapers "Komsomolskaya Pravda", "Sovetskaya Kultura" for Azerbaijan, Dagestan and Turkmenistan.
He is the author of novels, short stories, plays, short stories, essays, essays and other works. His works were staged in theaters in Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan.
In the last years of his life, he worked as deputy director of the Azerbaijan Institute of State Building and International Relations.
Faig Mustafayev died in 1995.
