Elnar Garayev was born in Sumgayit.

He studied at the directing department of the Theater collective of the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art (2000-2004, 2004-2006-master's degree).

Since his student days, he has worked as an actor at the Baku Municipal Theater. Since 2005, he has been an actor at the Azerbaijan State Academic National Drama Theater.

He starred in the films “Traders” (2009, in the role of a deputy / Iran) and “Marriage with a Will” (2009, directed by Vasily Serikov, in the role of the chief of the security service / Russia) by foreign producers.

He won the title of graduate of the 1st All-Republican Literary Recitation Competition (2006).

He is an Honored Artist (2019).
