Ali Alizadeh was born in Baku.

He studied at the Bulbul Secondary Specialized Music School and the Azerbaijan State Conservatory (1985, Faraj Garayev's class).

He worked at the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts and the Baku Academy of Music (1987-1999).

Since 1999, he has been teaching at the "Centenary University" (Yuzuncu yil Universitesi) in Van, Turkey.

He was awarded the 1st prize at the All-Union Composers' Competition in Moscow (1985), and one of the main prizes at the Republican Composers' Competition organized by the UN in Baku (1998). Among his works are “Aşıg Havasi” for piano, “2 Kupegiren Kari” - a musical for children, “Answer to all questions” for 5 instruments, “Serenata Dolore” for 16 performers and others.

Composer Ali Alizadeh is the son of composer Agshin Alizadeh.
