Alaviyya Babayeva was born in Baku.
She studied at the Faculty of Philology of Azerbaijan State University.
She was a responsible secretary in the magazine "Azerbaijani Woman" (1951-1973), head of the modern literature department at the "Ganjlik" publishing house (1973-1976), editor-in-chief (1976-1985), member of the admissions committee of the Azerbaijan Writers' Union, head of the translation section.
She began her literary activity in 1936 with the story "Two Lives" published in the "Literary Newspaper". She is the author of the books "People and Fates", "I'm Looking for You", "Farewell", "Colorful Dreams", etc. In addition to writing stories, narratives and novels, she also translated from modern Russian literature.
Honored Worker of Culture (1979) Alaviyya Babayeva died in 2014.
Writer Alaviyya Babayeva is the sister of artist Rasim Babayev.
