Alakbar Aliyev (Alakbar Agharahim) was born in Baku. He studied at the Film Directing Faculty of the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts (2001-2005, Master's degree 2005-2007), and at the Ateliers Varan French documentary film courses (2005). He worked as an assistant director and director on Azerbaijani television (2008-2012). Since 2021, he has been living in Moscow, working at the "Dialog" Chamber Theater.
