Abil Hasanov was born in West Azerbaijan.

Since 1989, he has worked as a lighting engineer at the “Azerbaijanfilm” film studio, and later as an assistant cameraman at the “Salname” and “Yaddash” studios. For a while, he worked as a cameraman and assistant cameraman on video clips and newsreels, as well as in war zones.

He has been living in Germany since 2017. His book “Empty Land” was published in Germany.
