Abdulgani Aliyev (Gani Javidan / Abdul Gani / Abdul Aliyev) was born in Baku.

He studied at the Asaf Zeynalli Music School (1980-1984), and at the Actor's Department of the Institute of Cinematography in Moscow (1986-1990, VGIK).

He directed numerous plays at the Azerbaijan State Yug Theater, and programs on ABA TV, Space TV, Azerbaijan Television, and Public Television channels. He shot commercials and music videos.
