Azerbaijan State Symphony Orchestra named after Uzeyir Hajibeyov
The Azerbaijan State Symphony Orchestra named after Uzeyir Hajibeyov (Azerbaijan State Symphony Orchestra) is one of the first orchestras to be established in the USSR. It was established in 1920 on the initiative of Uzeyir Hajibeyov. In 1944, on the eve of the musical decade of the Transcaucasian republics in Tbilisi, the symphony orchestra, which had been disbanded since 1940, was re-formed on the initiative of Uzeyir Hajibeyov. After the first rehearsal, the orchestra players put forward the idea of naming the collective after Uzeyir Hajibeyov. Since 1944, the Azerbaijan State Symphony Orchestra has been named after Uzeyir Hajibeyov.
