Aydın Dadashov

Aydin Dadashov was born in Agdam. He studied at the Faculty of Economics of the Azerbaijan National Economy Institute (1972), the Faculty of Dramatic Art of the Leningrad State Institute of Theater, Music and Cinematography (1980), and the Higher Courses of Directing and Scriptwriting of the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography (1982).

Since 1975, he has worked as a director and editor for feature films at the “Azerbaijanfilm” film studio.

Since 1989, he has been a teacher at the Faculty of Journalism of Baku State University, since 2000 an associate professor, and since 2006 a professor. At the same time, he was the head of the Department of Cinematography at the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art.

Laureate of the State Prize, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor, Honored Artist (2005) Aydin Dadashov died in 2017 and was buried in the Khirdalan cemetery.

Screenwriter, director, and film critic Aydin Dadashov is the father of producer Orkhan Dadashov.
