Aydin Abdullayev was born in Zhdanov district (now Beylagan).

He studied at the Azerbaijan State Institute of National Economy (1969-1977).

Since 1975, he has worked in the cinema: he worked as a film administrator, administrator of the animation workshop, head of the workshop, head of the film chronicle workshop. He was the deputy director, acting director of the “Azerbaijanfilm” film studio (1993–1994), and director of the “Azanfilm” film studio (1994–2000).

Aydin Abdullayev died in 2022.
