Arzu Urshan (Arzu Mammadova) was born in Sumgayit.
She studied at the piano class of the music school (1984-1988), at the Drama Directing Department of the Moscow State Institute of Culture (1990-1994), and at the Theater Studies Department of the Russian Academy of Theater Arts (1992-1998).
She worked at the Moscow State Variety Theater (1994-1997), at the Rustam Ibrahimbeyov National Cinematography Center in Baku (2000-2002), and on Azerbaijani television (2000-2006). Since 2009, she has worked at the “AzBuki” Producer Center operating in Moscow.
