Alexander Allegrov (Alexander Sarkisov) was born in Baku.

At the age of 12, he ran away from home and joined a circus troupe, but this did not last long, and he was returned home. At the age of 17, he ran away from home for good. During his tours with the circus troupe, he was called "allegris" due to his cheerful and active nature, which is similar to the Italian word "allegro". From then on, he began to be known by this surname. He began his professional career at the Baku Operetta Theater. In 1946, he moved to Rostov-on-Don and began working at the Musical Comedy Theater there. In 1961, he returned to Baku and worked at the Musical Comedy Theater. In 1976, he moved to Moscow.

Honored Artist of Russia (1959) and Azerbaijan Alexander Allegrov died in Moscow in 1994.
