Agharahim Aliyev

Agharahim Aliyev was born in Novkhani.

He studied at the Azim Azimzadeh Art Vocational School (1947) and the Azerbaijan Institute of National Economy (1973), specializing in economics.

He worked as a decorator at the Azerbaijan State Drama Theater, an artist at the Azerbaijan Television (1957). He was one of the first artists on television. He worked in various fields of the national economy until 1988. He worked as a chief artist-restorer at the restoration workshop of the Scientific Research Institute under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and at the same time was the head of the design department at the State Television and Radio Broadcasting Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Since 1988, he has worked as the first deputy chairman of the "Intourist" All-Union Joint-Stock Company. For more than 15 years, he was the general director of the largest Intourist - "Azerbaijan" hotel in Baku. He designed the performances of the Opera and Ballet Theater, the Academic National Drama Theater, and the Russian Drama Theater.

Since 2002, he has taught at the "Theater, Decorative Arts" faculty of the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts with the academic degree of associate professor.

In 2007, he was elected President of the Azerbaijan Hotel Complexes Association.

Honored Art Worker Agharahim Aliyev died in 2009.
