Aghalar Mirza (Aghalar Mirzayev) was born in Shabran (Devachi).

He studied at the Faculty of Journalism of Azerbaijan State University (1974-1979).

He began his career as a pioneer leader at the eight-year school No. 1 of Devachi city (1971-1972) and the Piremsan village secondary school (1972-1974). He worked as a junior editor, editor (1980-1986) in the radio's art and radio theater department at the Azerbaijan State Television and Radio Broadcasting Committee, editor, senior editor, department head in the Literature and Folk Art editorial office of television (1986-1994), deputy editor-in-chief of the Literary Drama Programs editorial office (1994-1999), and editor-in-chief of the Folk Art editorial office. He was the author of various television programs on oral folk art.

He began his artistic career in the 1970s. He was an active member of the Republican Literary Union of Young Poets. He defended his dissertation on the topic "The Creative Path of Khaltanli Taghi" (2002).

Candidate of Philological Sciences, laureate of the "Golden Pen" award (1996), Honored Artist (1998) Aghalar Mirza died in 2008.
