Aghakhan Salmanli (Agakhan Salmanov) was born in Surakhani. He received his first art education in the youth drama club of workers in Surakhani. He studied at the Drama and Cinema Acting Faculty of the Azerbaijan State Theater Institute (1960-1964, Rza Tahmasib's course).

He began his professional stage activity in 1964 at the Azerbaijan State Theater for Young Spectators with the role of Jafar Jabbarli based on Seyfaddin Dagli's play "Bahar oghlu". He is the director of several performances. He was awarded the "Golden Dervish" award and the "Senetkar" medal (2016) of the Union of Theater Workers of Azerbaijan.

Honored Artist (1979), People's Artist (2005) Agakhan Salmanli died in 2020 and was buried in the Surakhani cemetery.
