Aghasalim Abdullayev was born in Baku.
He studied at the Asef Zeynalli Music School and the Azerbaijan State Conservatory.
In different years he worked as a tar player in the ensemble led by Baba Salahov and the Said Rustamov Folk Instruments Orchestra.
He is a People's Artist (2007).
