Aghanaghi Akhundov (Agha-Naghi Akhundov) was born in Baku.
He studied at the Azerbaijan State Art School named after Azim Azimzadeh as a teacher of drawing and calligraphy in secondary schools (1948-1956) and at the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography as a director of animated films (1963).
He worked at the "Azerbaijanfilm" film studio.
Aghanaghi Akhundov died in 2002.
