Rufat Akhundov was born in Baku.

He studied at the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts (1996-2000).

He works as a singer and actor. In 2017, he was appointed head of the department of the Mardakan Military Rest House of the Ministry of Defense. Currently, in addition to his singing activities, he works as a teacher at the Buzovna Cultural House.
