Alakbar Huseynov

Alakbar Huseynov was born in Baku.

He studied at the Drama and Film Acting Faculty of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts (1978-1982).

For a while, he worked at the Sheki State Drama Theater on an appointment basis. Since 1988, he has been working as an actor at the Azerbaijan State Puppet Theater. In addition to acting, he has directed several performances. He was the chief director of the Azerbaijan State Puppet Theater (2006-2007). The actor, known as "Uncle Alakbar", a favorite of children, hosted children's programs on State Television for a long time. He was awarded the Polish "Order of Smile" award (2007), the "Humay" National Award, the "Golden Dervish" Award, and the Presidential Award.

Honored Artist (2000) Alakbar Huseynov died in 2007 after a long illness.
